Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, who came to Rajya Sabha in BJP’s first list for Lok Sabha elections, has been given ticket from Alwar, Mansukh Mandaviya of Rajasthan, Porbandar of Gujarat and Rajiv Chandrashekhar from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan and former Chief Minister of Tripura Biplao Deb have also got tickets. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has again got the ticket from Kota.
BJP Candidate List 2024 :
New Delhi: Adopting the successful formula of assembly elections in three states, BJP announced the names of more than one-third of its candidates even before the announcement of Lok Sabha elections. The first name in the first list of 195 candidates is that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be contesting for the third time from his old constituency Varanasi. Along with him, Rajnath Singh will again contest from Lucknow and Amit Shah from Gandhinagar.
BJP trusts Shivraj and Om Birla :
Whereas Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, who is currently in Rajya Sabha, has been given ticket from Alwar in Rajasthan, Mansukh Mandaviya from Porbandar in Gujarat and Rajiv Chandrashekhar from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan and former Chief Minister of Tripura Biplab Deb have also got tickets. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has again got the ticket from Kota. Generally, BJP changes a large number of faces in its candidate list. But this time, changes in the list released so far are visible only in those states where a new equation of opposition alliance has emerged or there is a huge anti-incumbency wave against the candidate.
Announcement of four new candidates in Delhi :
Delhi is a big example of this where there is an alliance between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party. The party has given four new names out of the list of five candidates released so far. After canceling the ticket of Minister Meenakshi Lekhi from New Delhi, new activist and Sushma Swaraj’s daughter Bansuri Swaraj has been made the candidate here. A major reason for the change in some names in states like Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh is that many MPs had contested the assembly elections there.
Candidates announced on state-wise seats:
Giving information about the candidates decided by the Central Election Committee two days ago, BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde said that the Lok Sabha seats of 16 states are included in the first list.

BJP expressed confidence in Manoj Tiwari :
Except Manoj Tiwari, other four faces are new in Delhi. According to Vinod Tawde, all classes, societies and castes have been represented in the selection of candidates. Of these, 34 are women, 27 are from Scheduled Caste, 18 from Scheduled Tribe and 57 from OBC. Giving importance to youth power, 47 youth below 50 years of age have also been fielded. In Kerala, BJP has also made a strategy to break the spell in Kerala by fielding Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar against Shashi Tharoor from Thiruvananthapuram along with Anil Antony, son of veteran Congress leader AK Antony, and actor Suresh Gopi. Congress MP Geeta Koda, who recently joined BJP, has been given ticket from Singhbhum.
Keeping the target of crossing 400 in mind :
Similarly, Ritesh Pandey, who left BSP and joined BJP, has also been made the candidate from Ambedkar Nagar. 34 Union Ministers have also got a place in the first list of BJP. According to Vinod Tawde, the candidates have been selected keeping in mind the target of 370 seats for BJP and more than 400 seats for NDA. For this, after conducting a survey at the local level, the names of the candidates were discussed in the election committees of the state. Based on the reports of the state election committees, the selection of the candidates was approved in the meeting of the Central Election Committee held in the presence of Prime Minister Modi and party president JP Nadda.
